stories right now, a shudder comes with it because of what happened at sandy hook. what do we actually know about what happened here? >> we're learning, actually, a little more. police officers just briefed us in the last hour or so. what they're telling us is that the 16-year-old shooter actually planned this, began the planning of it last night. he took the shotgun from his home, the home he's living it. it belongs to his brother, his 19-year-old brother, and the atf now tracking the registration. he then got the rounds. he went to bed, knew he was going to go in late. he went into his classroom, directly to those two boys who he says he tells police, were bullying him, and he aimed at both of them, striking one of them. i want to show you now a picture of the teacher in that classroom because what stopped it? it was this man. this teacher, what he did in addition to the counselor at the school, they convinced the boy to put down the gun, and that, piers, is what ended all of this. >> do we think he had a very specific set of targets or was he stopped from being more indiscr

. here's what he wrote on his blog. one is left to inquire whether the sandy hook shooting ever took place. at least in the way law enforcement authorities and the nation's news media described. tracy makes the case that news organizations and the government may have worked together to dupe you, the public, in order to gain support for gun control laws. he even is suggesting that the government may have hired trained crisis actors to aid in this. trained crisis actors. he is not convinced that the parents whose children were killed are really who they say they are. in his blog, tracy again a professor, suggests they may have been trained actors working under the direction of state and federal authorities and in coordination with cable and broadcast network talent to provide tailor-made crisis acting. tracy evan cites crisis actors that provides actors to use in safety drills and the like. apparently that is supposed to bolster his case. there is such a company and they are appalled by his comments. in a statement they said we are outraged by tracy's deliberate promotion of rumor and

out front. too little, too late. that's how it's being described, the $9 billion sandy relief. they want $60 billion. now, house speaker john boehner says there's going to be a vote on the remaining $51 billion. he says it's going to happen on january 15th but that's not good enough for representative pollone. he's out front tonight. let's deal with the build bill that had to deal with the flood insurance. 67 people voted no for including paul ryan. he said washington shouldn't be creating new debt and it would be irresponsible without making necessary reforms. debt ceiling may be an on muss sign of the future. what's your response to that? the national flood insurance is in crisis. >> the point is people paid their premiums and now they suffered and have damage and now paul ryan and others are saying they shouldn't -- the claims shouldn't be paid. i mean it's ridiculous. if you paid for any kind of insurance and you found out they weren't going to pay the claim, what would you think? i mean that's essentially what they're saying. >> in terms of the vote today and what happens next,

of people that claim that the sandy hook shootings were staged. now, there are always conspiracy theorists lurking online that come out with some horrific claims. normally, we wouldn't dignify them with air time. these are sickening to many in newtown that have spent the last few weeks crying and consoling and trying to figure out how to restart their lives. normally, we wouldn't mention these theories. at least one of the people who is peddling one version of this conspiracy theories i a tenured associate professor at tlflorid atlantic university. his name is james tracy. he claims the shooting did not happen as reported and may not have happened at all. here is what he wrote on his personal blog, and i quote, one is left to inquire whether the sandy hook shooting ever took place, at least in the way law enforcement authorities and the nation's news media have described. tracy makes the case, if you want to call it that, that news organizations and the government may have worked together to dupe you, the public, in order to gain support for gun control laws. he is even suggestin

aid package for thousands of victims of superstorm sandy, both chambers of the new congress approved a measure. the remaining $51 billion will be considered later this month. joining us now is ken fineberg, the managing partner of the law firm. also somebody who worked on these issues for years. you have given away what? $29 billion to victims of 9/11, katrina and several others, bp, and virginia tech, and some of the others, so what is your role as far as superstorm sandy is concerned? >> liberty mutual, private insurers, with claims all over the atlantic region has decided to set up a program to accelerate the processes of insurance claims rising out of sandy. anybody insured with liberty first tries to resolve the claim in the normal course with liberty. if that does not work, liberty has asked me to set up an independent mediation program designed to place the insured and the insurer together with a neutral third party to try to resolve the claim quickly within a matter of four to six weeks, without resort to litigation. >> so you will be medicimediati liberty and individuals who

students of sandy hook elementary school went back to school today for the first time since the shooting that killed 20 of their classmates and six adults in the newtown, connecticut, school. students were relocated to a different one, a building altogether in a different town in monroe, keblth cut. that's because sandy hook is still part of an active investigation and they don't know if the kids will return to that building. there is certainly increased security at the new school, an upgraded system of cameras and locks and parent were there to help the teachers as well. of course, a very emotional day for all. the school superintendent said that they would try to make it as much of a normal rue tin as possible, doing the kinds of things that they know are good for kids and that they would be familiar with. gary tuchman had a chance to talk to a couple of people at newtown. one set of the parents sent their 7-year-old daughter back to school today. >> reporter: he will la is a first grader at sandy hook elementary. >> what do you think you are going to do today? >> i don't know
